FALL IS HERE!! And its important to not just swap out your sandals for boots but to also update your beauty looks for the new season. Its time to put away all of those bright and neon summer colors that we love and embrace deeper and richer tones—and no you don’t have to walk around in only earth tones the next few months! Here are a few easy ways that all of you SUPERGORGE ladies can update your beauty look for Fall.
Matte Nails
Matte nails were VERY popular on the Fall Runways and offer a good hiatus from summer’s shiny bright nails. I’m loving the sleekness and sophistication that it adds to your existing nail polish—especially a black matte. With the number of matte nails that we saw during Fashion Week, its likely that we are going to see lot of matte nail polishes hitting the shelves soon. But why wait for that, with a matte top coat you convert your existing nail polishes into a matte finish (and its more budget friendly too). Two that are easy to find and work well are Essie’s ‘Matte About You ($10) and Revlon’s Matte Top Coat ($4.99).
Dark Lipstick
For Fall its time to scale back on the nude lip glosses and put away the Candy Yum-Yum lipstick (don’t worry its only temporary) and rock a bolder darker DRAMATIC lipstick (wines and burgundies). We have even recently seen Beyonce update her Fall look and wear a darker lip on the Mrs. Carter Tour.
A dark lipstick can sometimes be a challenge to wear but here are a few tips to perfecting this sexy daring look.
–Exfoliate your lips—dark lipstick is not cute on cracked brittle lips. There are lips exfoliator products out there, but the easiest way to do it is to brush your lips with your toothbrush or with a warm wash cloth and to mosuririze them with chaptstick or Vaseline overnight.
–De-fuzz that upper lip—dark lipstick draws more attention to a hairy upper lip. Enough said.
–Liner is your friend—especially with dark lipsticks. It will help shape your lip and keep the color on your lips and not all over your mouth!
–Apply, blot, and apply again.
RiRi Hearts MAC Collection for Fall 2013
We have been keeping all of you SUPERGORGE ladies updated on the release of Rihanna’s new fall line for MAC. I wish I could say that I was sent a sneak peak of the collection but I will be waiting for it to hit the stores like all of you. A full review will be coming soon, but we all know how quickly RiRi Woo sold out (3 minutes!!) so I wanted to make sure all of you SUPERGORGE ladies knew what to expect with the new line because it has some fabulous colors for Fall that you will want to get your hands on before it sells out!
The collection will be available at MAC stores starting on September 26th, online on September 30, and in all other locations October 3 through October 31.
Here are the pieces I have my eyes on:
Talk That Talk Lipstick —this color is described as a “matte dark plum” (a theme for Fall!) The color looks super sexy to me for a night time dramatic look and it’s the lipstick that Rihanna is wearing in the new campaign ads for the collection. HAUTE!
Eye Shadow X4 in Her Cocoa - I LOVE an eye shadow palette and this one looks like a great one for Fall with all of the warm golden tones. Plus I really that like it’s a mix of textures. The shades include: Retrospeck: Golden bronze (Lustre); Whisper Peach: Peachy beige (Satin); Woodwinked: Golden bronze (Veluxe Pearl); Mulch: Chocolate bronze (Velvet)
Powder Blush in Good Girl Gone Bad - This blush looks warm and has a copper tone to it that is great to warm up your face on those chilly Fall days as your summer tan starts to fade.
